OUR STORY

The name Janarty's comes from a combination of our names, Janelle and Marty. We are family owned, locally owned, one location. Janarty's started as our dream. We used to sit up at night watching Shark Tank and Chopped and dream of owning our own business, working together, and being proud of something we could call our own! We thought about a restaurant, but ultimately decided on ice cream! The location we had in mind did not have a sweets shop. Every downtown needs a sweets shop!

A building became available in May of 2018. We knew it was the perfect location (right where you're standing now!) in the perfect town. We realized we needed to open quickly to take advantage of warm weather, but we also wanted to be thorough and do things the right way. Marty left his career as a touring musician and Janelle left nursing school, to devote 100% of our time to making Janarty's as great as we planned. We worked hard, did a lot of research (also just an excuse to eat a lot of ice cream) and committed to making the best ice cream anywhere. The first flavors we made were Double Chocolate and Andes Mint (which are still customer favorites to this day). After a lot of hard work, researching and refining the process until we got it right, and making a lot of ice cream, we felt ready and excited to open Janarty's!

Our dream came true when we opened our doors on September 8th, 2018. Since then we have received incredible feedback on our ice cream and won multiple awards - including the one we are most proud of "Best Customer Service". You can have the best product, but you have nothing without great customer service. We are so proud to make our artisanal super premium ice cream on site, from scratch, with no added fillers or preservatives, slow-churned, and frozen just a gallon at a time- unheard of in our industry. We are also very proud to make all of our baked treats in house, from scratch, and gluten free! We love this community and our customers! We feel blessed to be able to do this for a living.

Marty's daughter KJ works in the shop, and we also have three other beautiful girls: Marty's oldest Stevie, and our two together, Audrey and Ilabelle (Ila). We feel so blessed to have both a beautiful family and our own business to be proud of!
